Aug 30 -VS- Calvary Legends
Now *this* is how to play softball! We came out strong right away in the 1st, skipping our normal First and Second inning nap. We jumped up 6-0 when Legends came up, and they also let loose, using up their 2 HR and making it 6-7. From there on it was a great competitive game on a nice evening. Our defense was almost perfect, and we earned 2-3 runs every inning, with Matt slugging a 3 RBI HR. Legends had some pitching issues, but Roger's pitching was flawless. We ended up ahead 20-12 with time expired in the bottom of the 5th, and Legends had home-team last bat. This is the team that can put up 15-20 runs when inspired, but they came up short. Although they cleanly singled & doubled to make it 20-16, Scott caught the last fly ball to end the game with a 20-16 win.
